We recruit, train, and walk alongside resource families in White County and the surrounding area, with case management that stays with you long after placement day.

At the Beverly Ford Visit Center, children and parents share meals, play, and real conversation while birth families work their case plan toward reunification.

When a child enters care and no home is ready yet, the Safe Haven offers a meal, a shower, fresh clothes, and a quiet place to rest.

Our name comes from this promise. God knows each of our circumstances, cares about every detail, and promises to provide. That is the hope we carry into every home we serve.

Arkansas calls foster families “resource families”. Whatever the name, we’re looking for people who will offer safety and stability while a child’s family works to provide that themselves.

How to get started
- Fill out an interest form. It takes a few minutes and doesn’t commit you to anything.
- Join a training cohort. Choose a Fast-Track weekend or weekly Paced Training on Tuesdays.
- Complete your home study. We guide you through each step of licensing.
- Open your home, with a team behind you. Your case manager is a phone call away.
Who can foster with Sparrow’s Promise?
We welcome Arkansas families and individuals who are active, faithful Christians and can affirm our statement of faith. Resource parents:
- Are at least 21 years old
- Have a reliable source of income
- Are in good health
- Have room in the home for a child
- Have had no major life changes in the past year
- Have some experience with children
- Complete pre-service and ongoing training
- Complete the home study process
Our spaces
Places that feel as close to home as possible.
Beverly Ford Visit Center
Cozy living spaces, a full kitchen where families can cook and share a meal, and a playground for kids to just be kids. Named for a longtime friend and volunteer, the Visit Center helps children and parents reconnect.
Visits are arranged through DCFS.
Donnie & Hilda Clay Safe Haven
Named for our first house parents in 1974, the Safe Haven gives children entering care, or moving between placements, a safe place to eat, shower, change clothes, and rest while a home is found.
It serves DCFS and Searcy’s Child Safety Center.
